What About Now???

So lately we have been going through a series at church call "When Love Comes to Town." Yesterday was an amazing day at church when God reached in and gripped the hearts of His Servants. Pastor Russ preached about community and the way everything changed when Christ came along. Once Jesus came everything changed...and through Him we have community and also the responsibility to care for others. The message will be up sometime this week and I really think you should check it out.... http://www.rushcreek.org/messages/ With that said I want to tell of a sight that I saw at church yesterday. Pastor Russ finished preaching and talking about community and helping others. He paused for a second and said everyone bow your heads and close your eyes and what awaited everyone was a huge movement. Then he began to ask those with financial burdens that didn't know what to do and those that were struggling to rid themselves of pride and come to the front while everyone had their heads bowed. About 10-12 did in the first service I went to at 9:00 A.M. When everyone opened their eyes he explained that there was $3,000 taped under seats all over the sanctuary and if we had an envelope he wanted us to get the envelope and take it to one of the people up front and if we didn't have an envelope he encouraged us to give. One man that was up at the front was an elderly man. You could tell that he was struggling because he had pretty worn clothes on and had a cane that he used to walk because he was handicapped. The man's heart was opened that day as he began to weep and it was an awesome thing to see. I was able to take an envelope to a girl that just joined the praise choir at the church. I don't know her well but she had mentioned prayer the week before in choir because she had moved into her own place and did not know how to make it. Tears were flowing all over the sanctuary as God began showing what the spirit should be during this time, but more importantly all the time. Check this scripture out...
Acts2:

37Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?"
38Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39"For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."
40And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!"
41So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
42They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
43Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
44And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;
45and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.
46Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
47praising God and having favor with all the people And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

wow....If you notice the first church was selling their things and giving away everything for the cause of Christ. So with this in mind...shouldn't the service we had that is amazing be an every day occurrence? If it was like this all the time...people would still be adding to the church as converts and people would start following Jesus like never before. Maybe we should ponder upon making this a stake in our lives. Why don't we change things to make it this way, after all Jesus did give His life and everything so that we may have a relationship with God. So what about now? What are we doing today? God has made us for so much more....watch the video on the link.
