The Great Fight

Today I was reminded of the constant fight of my flesh and righteousness that God has already provided for me. I have to say that everyday is a battle and I sometimes get a little frustrated when people make Christianity about being perfect or easy. That cannot be more farther from the truth. No one ever said Christianity was easy...and I believe that Paul and every other apostle showed that in their martyrdom and the things they ran across during their ministries. So why is it that Christians make some false point that Christianity will make your life easier or once you are saved it will be amazing? So why do those guys on tv say if you become a Christian you will be blessed beyond recognition? From what I have seen it is possible for those things to happen but God does not always do that. Usually just because a homeless man gives his life over to Jesus does not mean that he will be in a mansion in the near future. Many times it may mean that they have a hard time in life but now they found Joy in the one that saves them. What about our flesh though? Why when we are saved do we feel we should sin any longer? We can't be perfect but for those that may read this and are on the fence about following after this Jesus guy sit and think for a minute. It doesn't get easier, for crying out loud if you want to hear my testimony and hear about how things have happened then tell me. My life is living proof that once you are saved things are not just great but what a person that is a follower of Jesus knows is that He is bigger than anything and He is worth always striving to live for. Things happen that are hard and we can have assurance in Him *Jesus* for Joy and knowing that we are only growing in Him. We will have many temptations but through Him we have something to look forward and can know that we are free through Him and do not have to live in the hardships/sin that we once did. Jesus is more than a friend, someone that may "bless" you, He is the almighty God over everything and King of all forever. Jesus is the one that gave up being perfect to taking our sin upon Himself so that we could have this freedom. Jesus is the King at the right hand of God able to be worshipped right now. So why wait? We can and should live for Him even when we fail or do not feel that we should. He gave His life for our freedom, we owe Him everything. So quit believing in the scheme and if you are a believer, fight as hard as you can and pray for the Holy Spirit to help. Whenever you feel it is impossible give God your boxing gloves and let Him come in like Rocky....because Rocky always overcame. Except God was and never will be the underdog and there is no way for Him to fail.
